About Us

Merrimack Valley Retirement and Investment Services

We all need a little guidance now and again, especially when it comes to important financial decisions like saving for college, investing and planning for retirement.  We are proud to have helped many hundreds of members strategically plan their financial goals. We are ready to do the same for you.

Our philosophy is one of service not sales - building long-term relationships, not generating revenues.  As employees of Merrimack Valley Credit Union, we work for you and only you. Unlike most banks or brokerage firms, MVCU literally belongs to you, therefore helping our member/owners must be and is our singular goal.

In the Retirement and Investment Services area we have no sales quotas, and no pressure to sell any investment product or service, nor are we nudged to steer you into any type of account. Our mission is to offer education, service, and guidance for the sole purpose of helping you to reach your financial goals and dreams.

It is our job is to get to know and understand your financial needs, wants, and long-term goals. We want to know about your experience or lack of experience in the investment world. Only the can we begin to help you develop, implement, and monitor a strategy that’s designed to address your individual situation.

There is no “one size fits all” strategy when it comes to planning for your future.  That means we’re objective and selective, completely free to offer only those investment products and services we believe are best suited to help meet your individual financial goals.  As financial advisors that is a wonderful feeling and we think you will like how it works for you as well.

We pride ourselves on offering timely investment advice with the highest level of integrity and service, and our client relationships are built on our core values:

  1. Honesty
  2. Dedication
  3. Objectivity
  4. Professionalism

Establishing Relationship: Successful planning starts with trust. We are dedicated to learning about you and your life, both inside the financial world and beyond it.

Gathering Data and Goals: We seek to gain a thorough understanding of who you are and what you value most. When we ask for specific information it is always kept strictly confidential, however it is necessary that we have an accurate understanding of your current and future financial situation.

Evaluating Financial Status: In addition to exploring your goals, we analyze your risk tolerance and investment experience. To properly evaluate your financial situation, we must understand not only your balance sheet, but who you are as a person. We want to understand your comfort level with various facets of the investment world so that we can develop strategies engineered to help achieve your personal goals.

Develop and Present Our Recommendations: We will always endeavor to make recommendations that not only match your investment goals, but which fit into your comfort zone. We want you to have a good understanding of the strategies we are recommending including the costs, risks, and realities of market and investment fluctuations.

Taking Action: We will recommend sensible approaches to implementing your individual financial strategy. Moving into unfamiliar territory can be stressful for new investors. We know this and take that into consideration.

Monitoring Your Progress: As markets and economies change, your financial plans must have the flexibility to meet your evolving needs. Through ongoing strategy meetings and reviews, we seek to continually work alongside you to help you achieve long-term success.
